Summer is coming! And when it gets hot, we look forward like crazy to a refreshing drink that tastes delicious and cools us down at the same time: that's right, we're talking about iced tea. But let's be honest: the usual iced tea almost always contains far too much sugar. Or lots of other sweeteners (e.g. aspartame, saccharin, sucralose or stevioside), which are no better for your body and health.
That's why we went into the OH LA LAQUA tasting kitchen and created fantastic new iced tea ideas for you to make yourself.
Iced tea without any sugar or sweetener
Here's how it works, the healthy alternative to iced tea that you can easily make yourself.
Make your own healthy iced tea:
Step 1
Black, green or white tea? Simply take the tea you like best, pour half a liter of hot water over 1-2 teaspoons of loose tea and leave to infuse for a few minutes.
By the way: the shorter you leave the tea to infuse, the more stimulating it is. Why is that? Black tea, green tea and white tea contain teein, which has the same effect as caffeine. Black tea contains the most teein. Green tea contains slightly less and white tea contains the least. The longer you leave your tea to infuse, the more tannins get into your tea in addition to the teein. And tannins in turn balance out the stimulating effect of the teein - at least partially.

Step 2
Leave the tea to cool and then put it in the fridge. This way, your iced tea lives up to its name and you can add a few ice cubes to it later.
